Marcella K. Szymkowiak, 84, formerly of 600 Bukolt Ave., died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2000, at the Portage County Health Care Center.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter Catholic Church. Burial will be in Guardian Angel Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home. St. Peter’s Rosary Society and the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary will combine with the general rosary at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Mrs. Szymkowiak was born Jan. 19,1916, in Lankin, N.D., a daughter of the late James and Katie (Zahraka) Shereck. She attended schools in North Dakota and Marshfield.
She was married to Dominic Szymkowiak on Feb. 28,1 938, at St. Peter Catholic Church. He died Nov. 25, 1995.
After the marriage, they settled in Stevens Point.
She was employed for Weber Fly Co. and the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
She was a member of St. Peter’s Rosary Society Rose 32 for more than 48 years and also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1170 Auxiliary.
Survivors include five sons, James (Hillary), New Zealand, and Leonard, Robert (Susan), Eugene and Kenneth, all of Stevens Point; two daughters, Mary Ann (Allen) Heidel, Menomonee Falls, and Kathy (Matthew) Raykowski, Stevens Point; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
