Lucy M. Foss Lawrence, 80, Beloit, a Bancroft native, died Saturday, Oct. 14, 2000, at Beloit Memorial Hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Henke-Clarson-Holzhuter Funeral Home in Janesville, with the Rev. Gene Van Galder officiating. Burial will be in the town of Rock Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Lawrence was born Jane 26, 1920, in Bancroft, a daughter of the late Albert G. and Marian (Hutchinson) Ellis.
She was married to Dennison Foss in 1939.
She was married to Eugene Lawrence on July 1, 1961. He died Nov. 3, 1991.
She was an Avon representative for many years. She served as secretary-treasurer of the town of Rock (Afton) Cemetery Association for many years and had been a member of the Afton Community Church.
Survivors include two sons, Robert (Mary) Foss and Ralph (Sharon) Foss, both of Janesville; one daughter, Phyllis (Glenn) Merritt, Afton; one stepson, Eugene R. (Gail) Lawrence, Janesville; two stepdaughters, Shirley Morgan, Edgerton, and Karen (Douglas) Martinson, Burlington; two brothers, Clarence (Ruth) Ellis and Richard Ellis, both of Janesville; 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Richard Foss; an infant daughter, Marie Foss; three brothers, Albert Ellis, Arvid Ellis and Arnold Ellis; and one sister, Florence Pearl Corkhill.
