Leonard S. Grulkowski, 75, Galloway, father and brother of several Portage County residents, died Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2000, at his home.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Schmidt-Schulta Funeral Home in Wittenberg, with the Rev. Rex Zimmerman, past of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galloway officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the VFW.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home until the services.
Mr. Grulkowski was born Nov. 6, 1925, in Bevent, a son of the late Walter and Proxceda (Herrick) Grulkowski.
He was married to Florence Pavlichek on Aug. 31, 1946, in Deerbrook.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He owned and operated Len’s Rocking Country Bar in Galloway for 20 years until retirement. He also worked as a residential and commercial painter.
He was a member of the Elderon Memorial Post 8068 of Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, David (Sandy), Sheboygan, Larry (Kathy), Stevens Point, Mark, Wausau, and Steve (Lisa), Appleton; one daughter, Jane (Bill) Mischnick, Stevens Point; four brothers, Ervin (Jean) and Ben, both of Three Lakes, Hank (Elaine), Alden, N.Y., and Walter (Sharon), Mosinee; three sisters, Alice Stroik, Stevens Point, Loretta (Adolph) Borski, Custer, and Dorothy (Jack) Wayer, Park Ridge; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
