David T. Hobson, 84, Portage County Health Care Center, a former Stevens Point businessman, died early Wednesday morning, Oct. 11, 2000. He had been a resident there for the past 12 years.
Private family services were held.
Boston Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
Mr. Hobson was born July 24, 1916, in Rice Lake, a son of the late David and Minnie (Robarge) Hobson Sr.
He was raised in Rice Lake and New London before moving to Stevens Point in 1932.
He served as a teacher in the Signal Corps during World War II.
From 1941 until 1944, he was married to the late Karlene Raye Koch.
From 1947 until 1979 he was married to the late Evelyn Pronz.
He was self-employed for more than 45 years, first in the radio business and later as Hobson’s Radio and TV Repair.
Survivors include three sons, John, Plainfield, Ronald, Lac du Flambeau and Gerald, Stevens Point; one daughter, Sandra, Memphis, Tenn.; and five grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, two sisters and one infant son.
