Leon Frederick Myer, 73, Winter, a Mosinee native and former Stevens Point resident, died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000, at his sister’s home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Loretta-Draper, with the Rev. Brian Crocker officiating. Burial will follow in the Draper Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Thursday until the services.
The Novitzke Funeral Home of Park Falls assisted the family with arrangements.
Mr. Myer was born April 11, 1927, in Mosinee, a son of the late Frederick and Laura (Degner) Myer. He grew up and attended schools there.
He served in the U.S. Air Corps.
He was married to Opal Bowman on Dec. 9, 1967.
He worked for Greyhound Bus Lines for 27 years. After retiring, he worked for Nationwide Travelers of Appleton.
He was a member of the American Legion and the Civil Air Patrol.
Survivors include five sisters, Patricia Myer and Margaret Gilberts, both of Loretta, Rose (Glen) Tom, Winter, June Mason, Almond, and Sally (Andrew) Bogyie, Exeland.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, Edwin; and three sisters, Evelyn Eckman, Adeline Ervin and Shirley Myer.
