Henry Robert Phillippi, 81, Plover, formerly of Pittsville, died Friday, Sept. 22, 2000, at the home of his daughter in Plover.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. John Lutheran Church in Pittsville, with the Rev. T.P. Bradtke officiating. Burial will be in Mound Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Buchanan Funeral Home in Pittsville.
Mr. Phillippi was born April 6, 1919, in Elmo in Grant County, a son of the late Henry and Caroline (Kinzle) Phillippi. He was educated in Pittsville.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was married to Mabel Schwersinske on April 20, 1950, at St. John Lutheran Church in Pittsville. She died March 19, 1994.
He was employed at Consolidated Papers Inc. for 31 years, retiring in 1981. He also operated a dairy farm in the town of Wood in Wood County, retiring from farming in 1980.
They resided in the town of Dexter in Wood County from 1985-1994 and he lived in Plover with his daughter after his wife’s death.
He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and the Papermakers Union.
Survivors include his daughter, Bonnie (Randy) Waldherr, Plover; three sisters, Ethel Ramage, Antioch, Ill., Kay Clark, Chicago, Ill., and Carol (James) Larson, Pittsville; four brothers, Carl (Helen) and Ray (Carol), both of Pittsville, Robert (Donna), West Allis, and Donald, Marshfield; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Edmund and Walter; one sister, Elsie Vergsvik; and one granddaughter.
