Elmer H. Wendlandt, 83, Wittenberg, father of an Amherst man, died Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2000, at his home in the town of Harrison in Waupaca County.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galloway, with the Rev. Rex Zimmerman officiating. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Polonia.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the church and again from 9:30 a.m. at the church until the services. There will be a parish prayer vigil at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the church.
Schmidt-Schulta Funeral Home in Wittenberg is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mr. Wendlandt was born Oct. 7, 1916, in Eden, a son of the late Emil and Anna (Dunisch) Wendlandt.
He was married to Agnes Migel in Galloway on Oct. 26, 1941. She died April 15, 1992.
He was employed at the Waupaca Foundry for 15 years until his retirement.
Survivors include three sons, Gene, Amherst, James, Wittenberg, and John (Sue), Scandinavia; one daughter, Nancy (Glen) Bailey, Green Bay; two sisters, Myrtle Eberhardt, Madison, and Ethel Mae Peake, Dubuque, Iowa; one half-sister, Stella Wendlandt, Lancaster; 14 grandchildren; one stepgrandson; four great-grandchildren; and three-step-great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, Gordon; one half-brother, Harold; and one half-sister, Josephine.
