Elma Huhtala, 82, Ramsay, Mich., mother of a Plover woman, died Sunday, Sept. 10, under the care of Hospice of Portage County at Harmony House of Plover, where she had resided since April.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Wandersee Funeral Home in Bruce Crossing, Mich., with the Rev. John Kuziej officiating. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery in Bruce Crossing.
Visitation will be at the funeral home one hour before the services.
Mrs. Huhtala was born Aug. 2, 1918, in Kearsage, Mich., a daughter of the late Edward and Matilda (Nikupeteri) Huhtala.
She was married to Arthur Huhtala on Aug. 21, 1942, in Detroit. He died March 11, 1988.
She lived in Ramsay for 50 years and was a member of the Wakefield VFW Auxiliary.
Survivors include five daughters, Judy (Dave) Ronzani, Plover, Pat (Jerry) Sheperd, Vista, Calif., Helen Cummings, Bettendorf, Iowa, June (Greg) Schurig, Clearwater, Fla., and Susan Hartman, Portage, Mich.; nine grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
She was also preceded in death by one sister, Edna Johnson; two brothers, Leo and Pete; and one granddaughter.
