Yvonne Prehm, 77, Webster City, Iowa, mother of a Plover woman, died Monday, Aug. 28, 2000, at Trinity Regional Hospital in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Webster City, Iowa, with the Rev. Bill Kem officiating. Burial of her ashes will occur at a later date.
There will be no visitation.
The Foster Funeral Home of Webster City, Iowa, is handling arrangements.
Mrs. Brooks was born Feb. 2, 1923, in Stratford, Iowa, a daughter of the late Charles and Frances (Clabaugh) Brooks. She attended Webster City schools, graduating from Lincoln High School.
She taught in rural schools in the Webster City area.
She was married to Thomas Jerald Prehm in Princeton, Mo., on Nov. 14, 1941. He died Feb. 24, 1976.
They resided in Eagle Grove, Iowa, until moving to Webster City in 1950. She resided at Southfield Care Center since April 21, 1995.
She worked at the Hamilton Hospital and Ione’s Beauty Salon.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church, was a former Sunday school teacher and was an elementary school reading volunteer.
Survivors include one daughter, Alison (Dennis) Gaskill, Plover; two brothers, Melvin Brooks, Fort Dodge, Iowa, and Stewart Brooks, Jackson, Mo.; two sisters, Dorothy Hanson, Augusta, Ga., and Retta Raines, Deland, Fla.; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Randall and Riley Brooks.
