Frank J. Smith, 69, 11531 Highway WW, town of Grant, died Wednesday Aug. 30, 2000, at his home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids, with the Rev. Carl Dockendorff and Deacon Norb Brunner officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Wisconsin Rapids.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids and from 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. A parish prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday.
Mr. Smith was born April 25, 1931, in Chicago, a son of the late Russell and Stella (Plasky) Smith. He graduated from Tri-County High School in Plainfield in 1949.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1952-54 during the Korean War.
He was married to Jean Heeg on Nov. 7, 1970, in Nekoosa.
He worked at Nekoosa Papers Inc. (now Georgia-Pacific) for 31 years, retiring in 1986.
He was a member of the Wisconsin Trappers Association and the National Rifle Association. He was a former member of the Holy Name Society.
Survivors include his wife.
He was also preceded in death by an infant sister.
