Evelyn M. Buckel, 98, formerly of Chicago, Ill., died Sunday, Aug. 20, 2000 at River Pines Center.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home, with the Rev. Kenneth Knutson, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in Plover Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 1 p.m. Tuesday until the services.
Mrs. Buckel was born Aug. 30, 1901, in the town of Knowlton in Marathon County, a daughter of the late Frank and Rose (Bojarski) Gollon.
She was married to Ralph Friday and, after he died, to Ruben Buckel. He also preceded her in death.
She lived more of her life in Chicago, moving back to the Stevens Point area in 1989.
Survivors include four grandchildren, Shirley (Mike) Bablitch, Stevens Point, Richard (Anna Marie) Gray, Land O’ Lakes, Fla., Ralph (Paula) Christensen, Westfield, and Evelyn (Tony) Darin, Oregon; 11 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Alvine Christensen; seven brothers and sisters; and two grandsons.
