Ellen H. Brikowski, 60, Lake Havasu City, Ariz., a longtime Stevens Point resident, died Thursday, Aug. 24, 2000, at Wausau Hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Jensen & Jinsky Funeral Home in Plover with the Rev. Ed Hunt officiating.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9 a.m. Wednesday until the services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to the American Red Cross or Hospice of Portage County.
Mrs. Brikowski was born Aug. 16, 1940, in Illinois, a daughter of the late Allen and Nancey (Gibson) Emerson.
She attended St. Luke’s Presbyterian Nursing School in Chicago, Ill., and received a bachelor of science degree in nursing from Milton College.
She was married to James E. Brikowski on Sept. 11, 1960.
She worked as a registered nurse at St. Michael’s Hospital in Stevens Point and then as a community health nurse for the Portage County Health and Human Services Department.
After retiring, they traveled and then settled in Lake Havasu City.
She was a member of Lake Havasu Community Presbyterian Church and the American Red Cross and volunteers for the Hospice of Portage County, her Bible study class and the Women’s Club.
Survivors include her husband, Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; two daughters, Beth E. Brikowski, Stevens Point, and Jennifer N. Brikowski, Plymouth, Minn.; one son, James, Appleton; and two sisters, Nancy Emerson and Mary Heines, both of Dallas, Texas.
