Adam M. Pallan (Palbrach), 87, 490 Mill St., Amherst, died Sunday, Aug. 20, 2000, at St. Michael’s Hospital.
Services will be at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Boston Funeral Home. Burial will be Wednesday at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 3 p.m. Tuesday until the services.
Mr. Pallan was born May 23, 1913, in the town of Rice in Oneida County, a son of the late Martin and Jessie (Sczymhovich) Pallan. He moved to Stevens Point with his family at an early age and attended schools here.
He joined the U.S. Navy on Oct. 15, 1942, in Milwaukee and was honorably discharged Sept. 24, 1945, at Great Lakes Naval Station in Illinois. He served during World War II on the USS Tennessee in the South Pacific. He received five battle stars during his military service, including one for the Battle of the Coral Sea.
He was married to Madeline Harris in 1986. She died in 1989.
He was a life member of DAV Schumann Heink Chapter 30 and a member of Tomorrow River Memorial VFW Post 11346.
Survivors include four sons, James (Barbara), New Berlin, Richard (Patricia), Mukwonago, Gerald (Dorothy), Big Bend, and Jack (Olga), Waterford; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
