Harold George Blenker, 84, Marshfield, former owner of Blenker Oil, died at his home Tuesday, July 18, 2000.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Kilian Catholic Church in Blenker with the Rev. John A. Wisneski officiating. Burial will be in St. Kilian Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Rembs/Kundinger Funeral Home in Marshfield and from 9 a.m. Saturday at the church until the services. A parish rosary service will be combined with a Knights of Columbus rosary service at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Blenker was born Nov., 4, 1915, in Blenker, a son of the late George and Emma (Konopa) Blenker in the city of Marshfield in Marathon County. He attended St. Kilian School in Blenker and Milladore High School, graduating from Lincoln High School in Wisconsin Rapids in 1932. He then attended Stevens Point Normal School (University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point) for two years.
He was married to Evelynne J. Wilson on June 15, 1938, at St. Kilian Catholic Church in Blenker.
He worked with his father in the mercantile and oil business until taking over ownership of Blenker Oil Co. in 1945. He retired in 1983 upon the sale of the business to Swetz Inc.
He has been a member of the Wisconsin Petroleum Association of Oil Jobbers of America and past president of the Auburndale Lions Club and Knights of Columbus, Christ the King Council 4646 of Junction City. He was an active member of St. Kilian Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife; three children, George (Susan Peterson), Rice Lake, Sandra Blenker, Glen Ellyn, Ill., and Mary McCombie, Maywood, Ill.; and one sister, Rita (Raymond) Hilgart, Milwaukee.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
