Gladys Marie Larson, 74, 1300 Briggs Court, died Saturday, July 1, 2000, at River Pines Center while under the care of Hospice of Portage County. She was ill with cancer for several weeks.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. David Maxfield officiating.
Friends may greet her family at the church from 6 p.m. Friday until the services.
A memorial has been established in her name for Hospice of Portage County.
Boston Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
Mrs. Larson was born April 14, 1926, in Washburn, a daughter of the late Stanley and Lillian (Mallum) Stefinske. She graduated from Washburn High School in 1944 and spent the next few years working for the government in Washington, D.C.
She married and returned to Wisconsin.
In 1986 she retired from her position with Wood County because of a disability, and moved to Stevens Point.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Trinity Quiltmakers, the Retired Senior Volunteer program and the Stevens Point Housing Authority.
Survivors include four sons, Ralph (Mary) Frostman, Iron River, Larry Frostman, Stevens Point, Gary Frostman, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Thomas Larson, Iron River; three sisters, Janet (Robert) Carlson, Washburn, Lois Howard, New Brighton, Minn., and Doris Steiger, Tinley Park, Ill.; one brother, Stanley (Joyce) Stefinski, Greenfield; six grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
She was also preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy G. Peterson.
