Eugene P. Doubek, 79, 4225 Sequoia Court, a former longtime resident of New Berlin, died Friday, July 14, 2000, at St. Michael’s Hospital.
Services were Tuesday at Holy Apostles Church in New Berlin. Burial was in Holy Apostles Cemetery in New Berlin.
Visitation was held at the church Monday and on Tuesday before the services.
Larsen Brothers New Berlin Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
A memorial has been established in his name for the American Cancer Society and the American Lung Association.
Mr. Doubek was born Oct. 19, 1920, in Milwaukee, a son of the late Frank and Emily (Wodsodalek) Doubek. He graduated from Wauwatosa High School and attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
He served with the U.S. Army Air Corps in the Asian Theater during World War II.
He was married to Eugenie Smulski on Dec. 27, 1945. She died Nov. 20, 1989.
He was a fourth-degree member of the Knights of Columbus Chapter 3702 and a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
Survivors include one daughter, Julie (Jeffrey) Zabel, Stevens Point; three sons, William and Brian (Laura), both of New Berlin, and Jeffrey, Milwaukee; one brother, Franklin (Leona), Troy; and five grandchildren.
