Marian E. Meronek, 83, formerly of the town of Lanark, died Thursday, June 22, 2000, at River Pines Center in Whiting.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish at St. Patrick Catholic Church in the town of Lark with the Rev. Dan Farley officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Jungers-Holly Funeral Home in Amherst, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will also be held at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the services.
Mrs. Meronek was born Feb. 14, 1917, in the town of Lanark, a daughter of the late William and Caroline (Douswell) Warner.
She was married to John Meronek Sr. on Sept. 2, 1936, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Lanark. He died Oct. 4, 1985.
She worked as a machine operator at Super Charger Co. in Milwaukee from 1941-1945 and at Zwickers Knitting Mill in Waupaca for 16 years. She farmed with her husband in the town of Lanark from 1946-1970.
She was a member of St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish and its Ladies Aid and Altar Society.
Survivors include three daughters, Carol (Stanley) Coon, Almond, Barbara Schwartz, Grafton, and Dianne (Edward) Schultz, Almond; two sons, Darrell (Karin), Amherst, and John Jr. (Loretta), Almond; one brother, Arthur (Beatrice) Warner, Cecil; one sister, Nellie Lamb, Bancroft; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one brother, Charles Warner, and one grandson.
