Charles Nicholas Scheid, 84, 732 Main St., Junction City, died Wednesday, June 7, 2000, at his residence.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Junction City with the Rev. Stephen M. Mueller officiating.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Saturday at the church until the services.
Martens/Kundinger Funeral Home of Junction City assisted the family with arrangements.
Mr. Scheid was born Jan. 2, 1916, in McHenry, Ill., a son of the late Nick B. Freund and Della Scheid.
He was married to Bertina Lawrence on June 2, 1956.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II.
He farmed in the town of Eau Pleine.
He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Judy Houck and Linda (Joe) Hewins, both of Crystal Lake, Ill.; four sons, Frank (Gayle) and Daniel (Beth), both of Junction City, Douglas (Connie), Stevens Point, and Jesse (Deb), Wisconsin Rapids; two sisters, Sis (Murl) Bowers, Fox Lake, Ill., Delores (Vic) Hunt, Wonder Lake, Ill.; three brothers, Bud (Joyce) Freund and Merle (Connie) Freund, both of McHenry, Ill., and Floyd (Lois) Freund, Woodstock, Ill.; 18 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Phyllis; and two sons, Charles and Tim.
