Bernice “Tootie” Skalski, 77, died Wednesday morning, June 21, 2000, at St. Michael’s Hospital.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Stephen Catholic Church, with the Rev. Daniel Kozlowski officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Boston Funeral Home, where a rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m.
Mrs. Skalski was born May 13, 1923, in Stevens Point, the daughter of the late Eddie and Mary (Obrien) Lind. She graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School in 1941.
She was married to Alfred G. Skalski on Oct. 17, 1946, at St. Peter’s Parsonage. He survives.
Mrs. Skalski worked as a bookkeeper and cashier for the JC Penney Department Store for 28 years, retiring in 1985. She was a member of American Legion Post 6 Auxiliary. Her interests included traveling, attending musicals and sports, especially baseball.
Survivors include one daughter, Sue Ann Skalski, Sun Prairie.
One sister, Mildred Boyer, preceded her in death.
