Anthony J. Britz, 71, 1145 5th Ave. N., town of Carson, died Thursday, June 22, 2000.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Milladore with the Rev. John Wisneski officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. Monday until the services.
Higgins Funeral Home of Wisconsin Rapids assisted the family with arrangements.
Mr. Britz was born Sept. 2, 1928, in the town of Linwood, a son of the late Jonas and Julia (Jarvis) Britz.
He was in the U.S. Army from April 1946 to September 1947 and was also in the Merchant Marine.
He was married to Theresa Eron on Oct. 15, 1955, in Mill Creek.
He was a steamfitter for Plumbers and Steamfitters Union Local 778 for more than 40 years and also farmed for a short time. He retired on Dec. 8,1984 due to a disability.
After retiring, he remodeled the Local 778 training center, was a member of the executive board for Local 778 and volunteered as a teacher coordinator at the training center.
He attended retreats at St. Anthony’s Retreat Center in Marathon twice a year for more than 30 years.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Peter (Dilly Konkol) and James (Lyn), both of Rudolph; three daughters, Rose (Tom Botwinski) Britz, Mosinee, Mary (Mark) Bushmaker, Rudolph, and Sue Britz, Junction City; one brother, Maurice (Judy) Britz, Sheboygan; one sister, Lois Walker, Wisconsin Rapids; and three grandsons.
He was also preceded in death by one son, Joseph; and three infant daughters.
