Sister Elenor (Humiliata) Stuczynski, 89, a Sister of St. Joseph of the Third Order of St. Francis for 71 years and an Amherst native, died Monday, May 29, 2000, at St. Joseph Congregational Home in Stevens Point.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the convent chapel with the Rev. Robert Greatorex officiating. Burial will follow in the convent cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the convent. A vigil service will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the chapel.
The Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
The former Elenor Stuczynski was born Feb. 21, 1911, in Amherst, a daughter of the late Valentine and Lucy (Sopa) Stuczynski.
Sister Stuczynski was received into the novitiate of the Sisters of St. Joseph of the Third Order of St. Francis on Aug. 6, 1929. She was an elementary school teacher for 16 years in the Chicago Archdiocese. Prior to her retirement, she served in food service at St. Joseph Academy from 1948-1956 and also at Maria High School from 1956-1965.
Survivors include one brother, Boniface (Joan) Stuczynski, Milwaukee; and two sisters, Sister Mariella Stuczynski SSJ-TOSF, Bartlett, Ill., and Esther Wisniewski, Milwaukee.
