Beverly I. Winkler, 90, town of Lanark, died Friday, May 19, 2000, at Riverside Medical Center in Waupaca.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Waupaca with the Rev. Larry Gross officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in the town of Lanark.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca and at the church Monday an hour before the services.
A memorial has been established in her name.
Mrs. Winkler was born May 15, 1910, in the town of Buena Vista, a daughter of the late Ripley and Anna (Precourt) Newby.
She was married to Carrol L. Winkler on June 30, 1938, in the town of Buena Vista.
She was a public elementary school teacher in Portage and Waupaca counties for 37 years. She also taught for 10 years at First Baptist Christian School.
She was a member of Badger Church Ladies Aid, the Portage County Homemakers Club and Esther Group at the First Baptist Church. She was a recent volunteer for Riverside Hospital Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Richard C. (Jean), Fond du Lac, and Donald R. (Carolyn), Washington, D.C.; two daughters, Cheryl (Peter) Ziegler, Madison, and Candice Harshner, Duluth, Minn.; one brother, Raymond Newby, Stevens Point; one sister, Bonita Stien, Stevens Point; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
