Anna M. Lassa, 86, Mosinee, mother of a Stevens Point woman, died Thursday, May 4, 2000, at St. Michael’s Hospital.
Services were Monday at Our Savior Catholic Church National Catholic Church in the town of Reid (Marathon County) with the Rev. Marion Talaga officiating. Burial was in Mosinee Cemetery.
Visitation was at Beste Funeral Home in Mosinee on Sunday and again on Monday before the services. A VFW Ladies Auxiliary service and parish prayer service were held Sunday.
Mrs. Lassa was born April 15, 1914, in Cleveland, Ohio, a daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Barszcz) Papa. She grew up in the Peplin area after living briefly in Cleveland and Chicago.
She was married to Theodore Lassa on Sept. 2, 1939, at Our Savior Church in the town of Reid.
They farmed in the town of Guenther (Marathon County). She was also a cook at the Antler’s Supper Club until her retirement.
She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 8733.
Survivors include one daughter, Pat (James) Gliniecki, Stevens Point; one son, Ronald (Coreen), Mosinee; five brothers, Adam Papa, Cleveland, Ohio, Pete ((Bernice) Papa, West Allis, Frank Papa, Milwaukee, Alex (Sharon) Papa, Phoenix, Ariz., and Steve (Helen) Papa, Wausau; three sisters, Stella Stachura, Stevens Point, Lottie (Alex) Filipiak, Mosinee, and Vickie Molenda, Phoenix, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
