James W. Mallis, 89, Mosinee, father of a Stevens Point woman, died Wednesday, April 26, 02000, at Community Health Care of Wausau Hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Beste Funeral Home in Mosinee with the Rev. Joseph Grassl officiating. Burial will be in Mosinee Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. Monday until the services. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday.
Mr. Mallis was born Sept. 15, 1910, in Poland, a son of the late Michael and Mary Maliszewski.
He was married to Erma Mecklenburg on June 25, 1932, in Chicago. She died Nov. 10, 1997.
They moved to the Maple Ridge area in Marathon County and farmed until 1948 when they purchased Jim’s Marble Bar in Knowlton. They retired in 1965 and moved to Crystal Lake near Mercer. They moved to their current address in September 1994.
Survivors include two daughters, Charlene (Leonard) Rosak, Stevens Point, and Sharon (Joseph) Dvorak, Mosinee; one son, Jerald (Kathy), Erda, Utah; one brother, William (Irene) Maliszewski, Mosinee; one sister, Mary Wysocki, Mosinee; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Jean Ewing.
