Helen A. Prutz, 92, 2420 Crescent Court, Plover, died Friday, April 28, 2000, at St. Michael’s Hospital.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Bronislava Catholic Church in Plover with the Rev. Pat Umberger officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church until the services.
The Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Miss Prutz was born Nov. 29, 1907, in McKeesport, Pa., a daughter of the late Bazil and Anastacia (Pruc) Pruc. Her family moved to Plover while she was a young girl and she attended St. Bronislava Catholic School and then St. Joseph’s Convent for 10 years.
She graduated from Central State Teacher’s College (now University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point).
She taught school in Chicago, Ill., for a number of years before returning to Stevens Point.
She played the organ for St. Bronislava Parish in Plover and St. Peter Parish in Stevens Point for many years. She was also involved in organic gardening and sold vegetables on the Public Square.
She was a member of the St. Bronislava Rosary Society.
She had been a resident of Friendship Manor and an adult foster home since 1992.
Survivors include two brothers, John Prutz, Plover, and Edward (Bernice) Prutz, Baton Rouge, La.; several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
