Edna I. Holubetz, 89, Wausau, a Stevens Point native, died Wednesday, April 19, 2000.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Helke Funeral Home in Wausau. Burial will be in McDill Cemetery in Whiting.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8:30 p.m. Monday and on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the services.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
Mrs. Holubetz was born Sept. 22, 1910, in Stevens Point, a daughter of the late Edwin and Ida (Hanson) Norton.
She graduated from Emerson High School in Stevens Point in 1929 and from Central State Teachers College (now University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point). She taught rural school in Waupaca County near Iola.
She was married to Henry E. Holubetz on Nov. 22, 1930. He died on Dec. 17, 1986.
They lived in Waupaca for seven years while he taught at various rural schools, moving to Wausau in 1943.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Wausau for 54 years, teaching Sunday school for 27 consecutive years. She was also a member of the Women’s Missionary Society of Immanuel Baptist.
Survivors include one daughter, Lois (Robert) Cable, Stevens Point; four sons, Howard (Hilda), Downers Grove, Ill., Darrell, Wausau, Karl (Katie), Toledo, Ohio, and Wayne, Green Bay; one sister, Alice (Wesley) Kent, Portland, Ore.; 19 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one sister, Pearl Powers, Stevens Point.
