Timothy H. Smith, 78, Clintonville, father of three Portage County residents, died Wednesday, March 15, 2000, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Appleton.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home in Clintonville, with Pastor Greg Sorensen officiating. Interment will follow at the Bethesda Cemetery in the town of Navarino (Shawano County).
Mr. Smith was born Jan. 25, 1922, in Waupaca County, a son of the late Enoch and Emma (Fredrickson) Smith, and grew up in the Waupaca area.
He served in the U.S. Army in the Philippines during World War II.
He was married to Dorothy Funk in 1946 in Waupaca. They later divorced.
In 1980 he was married to Betty Michalski in Clintonville.
He was employed in the roofing business in Waupaca County for 45 years.
Survivors include four daughters, Mary Kimmel, Stevens Point, Marsha (Clarence) Haynes, Amherst, Marjorie Smith, Rhinelander, and Betty Smith, Clintonville; four sons, Robert, Plover, John, Omro, Mike (Jolene), Waupaca, and Kevin, Clintonville; one sister, Gladys Bemis, North Fond du Lac; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by five sisters and one brother.
