Robert F. Bemowski, 65, 725 Meadow St., died Thursday evening, March 16, 2000, at his home.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Peter Catholic Church with the Rev. Dennis Worzalla officiating. Burial will be in Guardian Angel Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. Monday at the church until the services.
Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mr. Bemowski was born Nov. 11, 1934, in Stevens Point, a son of Genevieve (Printz) Bemowski, Stevens Point, and the late Alois Bemowski.
He attended St. Peter Elementary School and graduated from St. Bonaventure High School in Sturtevant.
He entered the U.S. Navy on July 13, 1954, in Minneapolis and served on the USS Beatty during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged on July 7, 1958, receiving the National Defense Service Medal, the Navy Occupation Services Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
After his discharge, he attended Milwaukee School of Engineering and worked for American Motors in Milwaukee.
He was married to Betty Coulthurst on July 6, 1963. She survives.
After their marriage, they settled in Waukesha, where he worked at Waukesha Cutting Tools as a machinist. They returned to the Stevens Point are for a short time before moving to Schofield where he worked at Wausau Cutting Tools (now Federal Mogul Co.) until his retirement in 1996.
He was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Schofield while living there, working with finances and the parish picnic. He was also a member of the Machinist Union Local and VFW Post in Schofield.
Other survivors include two sons, Alan, Sheboygan, and David, Schofield; one daughter, Donna Bemowski, Green Bay; and one brother, Roger (Kathryn), Stevens Point.
