Gladys Marie Shimek, 67, Stockton, Mo., a Stevens Point native, died Saturday, March 29, 2000, in her home.
Mrs. Shimek was born Aug. 7, 1932, a daughter of the late Jack and Phoebe Webie in Stevens Point.
She retired from Stockton R-I School in Stockton, Mo., and was an active supporter of the Muscular Dystrophy Association, hosting barbecues to raise funds for MDA.
She was a member of the Stockton United Methodist Church in Stockton, Mo., where she was a nursery attendant.
Survivors include five sons, George, Stockton, Mo., Gregory, Waco, Texas, Casimir, Columbia, Mo., and Kenneth and Patrick, both of Ethel, Mo.; two daughters, Debra Pearson, Glasgow, Mo., and Catherine Loehr, Lafayette, La.; one brother, Jack (Lois) Webie, Scandinavia; one sister, Jeanette (Robert) Lustro, Chicago, Ill.; two half-sisters, Barbara (David) Swenson and Star (Tony) Disher, both of Stevens Point; several grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
