George R. Williams, 76, 1541 W. River Drive, died Sunday, March 5, 2000, at River Pines Center.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Stephen Catholic Church with the Rev. Dan Kozlowski officiating. Burial will be in St. Bartholomew Parish Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home. A general rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.
Mr. Williams was born Feb. 5, 1924, in the town of Linwood, a son of the late Ernest and Bernice (Aron) Williams. He attended John Simms School in the town of Linwood.
He was a veteran of World War II, entering the U.S. Army on March 26, 1945, at Fort Sheridan, Ill., and serving with the military police. He was honorably discharged in 1947.
He was married to Frances Kwilosz on May 17, 1947, at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church.
After the marriage, they lived in the town of Linwood before settling in Stevens Point.
He was employed as a construction worker and also worked at Vetters for a number of years. He retired in 1984.
Survivors include his wife; one sister, Lucy (Joseph) Olszewski, Stevens Point; nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by one sister and one brother.
