Elaine Meilahn, 85, Park Ridge, died Tuesday, March 28, 2000, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 5, at St. Paul Lutheran Church with the Rev. Bob Barnes officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park in the town of Grand Rapids.
Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association in her name.
Boston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Meilahn was born Sept. 5, 1914, in Wausau, a daughter of the late Sollie and Laura Cooper.
She graduated from the Central State Teachers College (University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point) in 1936 and taught school in Owen, Iola and P.J. Jacobs High School and Stevens Point Area Senior High School.
She was married to Walter A. Meilahn on Aug. 7, 1937, in Crown Point, Ind. They moved to Park Ridge in 1939 and she received an award as the longest living resident of the village last summer.
Survivors include two daughters, Lorann (Kim) Stien, Eau Claire, and Mary (Patrick Jr.) Cundari, Winston-Salem, N.C.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a special niece, Louise Thompson, Stevens Point.
