Stephanie “Estelle” A. Gebert, 82, formerly of 1200 W. Jackson St., died early Saturday afternoon, Feb. 12, 2000, at the Portage County Health Care Center.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Stephen Catholic Church with Deacon Robert Hensen officiating. Burial will be in Guardian Angel Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home. St. Peter’s Rosary Society Rose 42, of which she was a member, will combine with the parish rosary at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Mrs. Gebert was born July 13, 1917, in Junction City, a daughter of the late Steve and Anna (Skibicki) Richter. She attended Oak Hill Grade School.
She was married to Christ Gountanis in 1938 in Chicago. After their marriage, they settled in Milwaukee for a short time and were later divorced.
She then married S.A. Gebert in 1946. He died in April of 1959.
She worked as a waitress for the Hot Fish Shop and also owned and operated Estelle’s Uniform Shop on Third Street in Stevens Point. She also decorated cakes for the Copps Co. for many years.
Survivors include one daughter, Georgia (Gary) Lutz, Plover; two sons, Stevens (Linda), Beaver Creek, Ohio, and Michael, Rudolph; one brother, George Richter, Chicago, Ill.; one sister, Johanna (William) Koebler, Janesville; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one brother, Ed Richter; and one sister, Jean Kamm.
