Joseph N. Starr, 101, of White Tail Run, Okray Drive, Plover, a former town of Plover official, died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2000, at River Pines Center.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Boston Funeral Home with the Rev. Gilbert Halverson officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park in the town of Grand Rapids.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home until the services.
Mr. Starr was born March 19, 1898, in Dodge County, a son of the late Leonard and Margaret (Bernard) Starr.
He was married to Ingabor Jensen on June 25, 1923, in Menomonie. She died Jan. 22, 1967.
In the early 1940s he was chairman of the town of Plover and service on the Portage County Board of Supervisors.
He was self-employed and has his own sawmill and threshing machine. He died logging in the area and threshing for local farmers.
Survivors include one son, Ralph (Sandy), Stevens Point; one daughter, Elaine Spezzano, Las Vegas; one sister, Estelle Rauch, Fond du Lac, 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one daughter, three sisters and two grandchildren.
