Frederic F. Renfert, 76, Madison, father of a Stevens Point man, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2000, at University of Wisconsin Hospitals following a brief illness with bladder cancer.
At his request there will be no funeral or memorial service.
Mr. Renfert was born Oct. 14, 1923, in Galveston, Texas, a son of the late Henry and Wanda (Stresau) Renfert.
He graduated from The Choate School and studied at Goethe Institute, Universitat Heidelberg and L’Universita Italiana per Stranieri in Perugia, Italy.
He also attended the University of Texas and received a degree in animal husbandry at the University of Wisconsin before attending UW-Law School.
He was married to Fae Wepfer more than 40 years ago. She survives.
Other survivors include three sons, Gordon (Gretchen), Stevens Point, Blaine (Kim) and Tad (Janet Hartung), both of Madison; one brother, Dr. Henry Renfert, Austin, Texas; one sister, Melita Lane Harkenss, Milwaukee; and five grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his stepmother, Anne Best Renfert; and one sister, Wandy Winterbotham.
