Florence R. Quandt, 96, The Harmony Home, Denmark, a long-time Stevens Point resident, died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2000.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no funeral services.
The Nickel Funeral Home in Morrison assisted the family with arrangements.
Mrs. Quandt was born Feb. 15, 1904, in Wausau, a daughter of the late Louis and Nellie (Sheppard) Maybee.
She attended grade and high schools in Wausau and graduated from Chicago Teachers College in 1925.
She was married to Hale Quandt on Dec. 3, 1927, in Cuba City. He died June 30, 1968.
She moved to Stevens Point in 1947 and he taught and coached at the then Central State Teachers College. Quandt Fieldhouse on the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point was named after him.
She was a former member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church; past Matron of Arbutus Chapter No. 52, Order of Eastern Star; and past Mother Adviser of the Order of Rainbow for Girls, Assembly No. 1, in Stevens Point.
Survivors include four grandchildren, Jeffrey and Jonathon Quandt, both of Beaver Dam, and Jayme Krueger and Jody Romberg, both of Marion; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Jerry, in 1993.
