Anton L. Kontney, 67, Stevens Point, died Friday, Feb. 25, 2000, from cancer at River Pines Center where he had been a resident since Jan. 14.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church with the Rev. Donald Przybylski officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery at Torun.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Shuda Funeral Chapel. A rosary will be said at 7 p.m.
Mr. Kontney was born Oct. 4, 1932, in Torun, a son of the late Leon and Pauline (Gburek) Kontney.
He was married to Delphine Breske on May 7, 1960, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church.
He was employed at Joerns Mfg. for 34 years, retiring in 1994.
Survivors include his wife, three daughters, Carrie (David) Karch, Custer, Jane (John) Zastrow, Spencer, and Peggy (Shane) Totten, Naples, Fla.; one son, Mark (Peggy), Stevens Point; one brother, Leo, Stevens Point; five sisters, Clara (Leonard) Gotz, Milladore, Rose (Edward) Wiza, Oak Creek, Lillian (Joseph) Babiak, Mosinee, Theresa (Donald) Maslowski, Wisconsin Rapids, and Antoinette (Jerome) Jelinski, Mosinee; and 10 grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Carl, Benedict, and Joseph and Ronald (both infants); and one sister, Elizabeth (infant).
