Ross “Gene” Shuman Jr., 77, Wausau, a former Stevens Point pharmacist, died Friday, Jan. 14, 2000, at Wausau Hospital.
Services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church in Wausau with the Rev. Bernadette Bruner officiating. Entombment will be in Memorial Chapel Mausoleum at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Wausau.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
Brainard Funeral Home of Wausau assisted the family with arrangements.
Mr. Shuman was born Dec. 4, 1922, in Lone Rock, a son of the late Ross and Eleanor (Rogers) Shuman Sr.
He attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison and graduated from Pharmacy School in 1948. He was a member of the Kappa Psi Fraternity. He moved to Wausau in 1948.
He was married to Elaine Hardy on Jan. 21, 1950, in Stevens Point.
He owned Westside Pharmacy in Wausau for 21 years. He did relief work at various pharmacies, including in Stevens Point, and was currently employed by 29 Pharmacy and Dustrude Pharmacy.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Gary, Wausau, and Tom (Stacy), Minneapolis; one daughter, Bonnie (Scott) Andrews, Wausau; one brother, John (Mickey), San Diego, Calif.; and five grandchildren.
