Lillian G. Kassner, 69, 4509 Pleasant View Drive, Plover, died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2000, at North Haven Care Center. She was under the care of Hospice of Portage County.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Stevens Point with the Rev. Graham West officiating.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Jensen-Jinsky Funeral Home in Plover.
Memorials may be designated to Hospice of Portage County.
Mrs. Kassner was born May 9, 1930, in Green Bay, a daughter of the late Martin and Elsie (Fictum) Schweiner. She graduated from Denmark High School in 1947.
She was married to Paul J. Kassner on Nov. 10, 1951.
She was an Avon lady for 18 years and a secretary at Hillcrest and Lannoye Grade schools in the Green Bay area. She later became an administrative assistant at Pulaski High School.
She and her husband retired in 1985 and moved to Stevens Point April 3, 1996.
She had been a Girl Scout leader. She was a member of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program and worked at the Holly Shoppe in Lincoln Center. She had been a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Green Bay and was now a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.
She was also a member of Oneida Swamp Stompers Snowmobile Club, the Bay Area Nordic Ski Club, Highland Ridge Golf Club, Crystal Springs Golf Club and Tree Acres Senior Golf Club.
Survivors include her husband, Plover; one daughter Lori Kassner (Melvyn) Rousseau, Stevens Point; one son, Michael (Julie) Kassner, Lino Lake, Minn.; two brothers, Jim (Karen) Schweiner, Kaukauna, and Martin (Nancy) Schweiner, Green Bay; four sisters, Mary (John) Karbon, Manitowoc, Grace (Harold) Rosenbaum, Greenleaf, Sister Doris Schweiner S.S.S.F., Milwaukee, and Pat (Ed) Valenta, Maribel; and three grandsons.
