Lawrence E. Vredeveld, 71, Randolph, father of a Stevens Point man, died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2000, at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Reformed Church in Randolph with the Rev. Calvin J. Vande Zande officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Randolph Community Funeral Home in Randolph and at the church from 10 a.m. Thursday until the services.
Mr. Vredeveld was born Sept. 19, 1928, in Friesland, a son of the late Henry J. and Elizabeth (Halbersma) Vredeveld.
He was married to the late Marion J. Sugden on July 1, 1949.
He was a lifelong resident of the Randolph area, working for C.C. Linck Highway Construction Co. of Beaver Dam and Busse Brothers of Randolph. After retirement, he was a parts runner for Dairyland Oil.
He was a member of the First Reformed Church in Randolph and the Fox Lake Golf Club.
Survivors include one daughter, Barbara (Lee) Post, Sheboygan Falls; three sons, Stevens (Patricia), Stevens Point, Bruce (Teresa), Randolph, and James (Lorri), Crossville, Tenn.; one brother, Gilbert (Janet), Randolph; one sister, Betty (Morris) Eggert, Beaver Dam; 14 grandchildren; and his fiancee, Betty Rahn.
