Jerome J. Hess, 76, Coldwater, Ohio, father of a Stevens Point woman, died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2000, at his residence after an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Coldwater with the Rev. Ronald Wilker officiating. Burial will be in St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Coldwater.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater and from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorials have been established with the Mercer/Darke County Hospice, 810 W. Main St., Coldwater, Ohio 45828.
Mr. Hess was born July 22, 1923, in Carthagena, Ohio, the son of the late Henry and Margaret (Hoelscher) Hess.
He was married to Eleanora Frilling on June 19, 1946, in Fort Loramie, Ohio.
He was retired from New Idea in Coldwater, Ohio.
Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Virginia (Robert) Niekamp, Stevens Point, Betty Jane (Larson) Cheek, St. Henry, Ohio, Linda (Thomas) Knapke, Englewood, Ohio, and Donna (Daniel) Eyink, Coldwater, Ohio; one son, Daniel (Deb), St. Henry, Ohio; three brothers, Urban (Adella), St. Henry, Ohio, Victor (Mary), Coldwater, Ohio, and Arthur, Tennessee; two sisters, Rita (Bernard) Hoying, Montezuma, Ohio, and Monica Grevenkamp, Maria Stein, Ohio; 17 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
