Irene J. Wagner, 85, 818 Meadow St., died Friday, Jan. 21, 2000, at St. Michael’s Hospital.
Private family services were held. Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
Mrs. Wagner was born April 8, 1914, in Solon Springs, a daughter of the late Stephen and Johanna (Jablonski) Meronek. She attended schools in Solon Springs and graduated from Emerson High School in Stevens Point in 1931.
She was married to Charles E. Wagner on Sept. 19, 1939, in Cicero, Ill. He survives.
Mrs. Wagner worked for Carson-Pirie-Scott and Co. in Chicago. The couple then relocated to Sacramento, Calif., where she worked for the state. After retirement, they returned to Stevens Point, where they have resided for 26 years.
Besides her husband, survivors include one brother, Jerome (Peggy) Meronek, DeLand, Fla.; two sister-in-laws, Marge Meronek, Sauk Village, Ill., and Edith Gorham, Waukegan, Ill.
One brother, Clifford Meronek, preceded her in death.
