Agnes Pliska, 89, 7510 Deer Road, Custer, died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000, at the Portage County Health Care Center.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Custer. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Shuda Funeral Chapel. St. Mary’s Altar Society, of which she was a member, will combine with the general rosary at 7 p.m. Monday.
Mrs. Pliska was born Jan. 25, 1911, in Ironwood, Mich., a daughter of the late Felix and Rose (Armatoski) Klosinski.
She was married to Roman Pliska on Jan. 2, 1933, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Custer. He died in December 1976.
They owned and operated Pliska’s Game Farm, which is currently run by their son, Leonard.
She also worked for the food service at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and then the Stevens Point Country Club.
Survivors include two sons, Ervin (Shirley) and Leonard (Ruth), both of Custer; two daughters, Caroline Damask and Betty (Bill) Foss, both of Custer; one brother, Richard (Ruth) Klosinski, Stevens Point; two sisters, Berneice (Norman) Kjer, Amherst Junction, and Ramona (John) Platta, Custer; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Gregory; one brother, Chester Klosinski; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.
