Thomas C. Zalewski, 84, 265 W. Casimir Road, Stevens Point, died early Wednesday morning, Dec. 22, 1999, at the Portage County Health Care Center.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Casimir Catholic Church with the Rev. Arthur Redman officiating. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home and from 9 am. Monday at the church until the services. There will be a parish rosary at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his name to the Alzheimer’s Association would be appreciated.
Mr. Zalewski was born Dec. 27, 1914, in Stevens Point, a son of the late Alexander and Constance (Gollon) Zalewski.
He was marred to Angeline Ostrowski on July 4, 1942, at St. Mary of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Fancher.
After their marriage they settled on the family farm homestead where they have lived the last 57 years.
He worked for Wisconsin River Division of Consolidated Papers for more than 28 years, retiring in May of 1976.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Richard (Susan), Stevens Point; two daughters, Barbara (Gary) Borski, and Lorraine (James) Bretl, both of Stevens Point; one brother, Edward (Helen), Milwaukee; four sisters, Frances Waldoch and Cecelia Zurawski, both of Stevens Point; Verna Cieslak, Chicago, Ill., and Catherine Wroblewski, Milwaukee; eight grandchildren; three step-granddaughters; and one great-grandchild.
He was also preceded in death by six brothers and four sisters.
