Ronald N. Shuda, 55, Iola Nursing Home, 390 W. State St., Iola, a Stevens Point native, died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 1999, due to complications with diabetes. He had been a resident of the home for the last four years.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Peter Catholic Church with the Rev. James Vennix officiating. Burial will be in Guardian Angel Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Shuda Funeral Chapel. The general rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m.
Mr. Shuda was born May 7, 1944, in Stevens Point, a son of Elizabeth (Wlodarski) Shuda, Stevens Point, and the late Steve Shuda.
He graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School in 1962 and began working for the Stevens Point Journal print shop. He worked there for 30 years before retiring in 1992 due to illness.
He was the leader of Ronnie and the Polka Boys band and played with numerous other bands in the area, most recently with the Rhythm Aires.
He was an active member and held numerous offices in the Stevens Point Old Car Club. He was also the chairman for registration at the Iola Car Show for many years.
He was married to Diane Storch. They later divorced.
He was married to Shirley Striegel on June 2, 1990, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church.
Survivors besides his wife and mother include one son, Tim; one daughter, Jaci; one stepson, Gales Ferry, Conn.; one stepdaughter, Amy Wright, La Crosse; and one brother, Ray (Irene), Stevens Point.
