Otto F. Hackl, 49, 3679 Bentley Road, Custer, died suddenly on Wednesday, Dec. 15, 1999, at home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Torun with the Rev. Donald Walczak officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Shuda Funeral Chapel and from 9 a.m. Saturday at the church until the services. The general rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Friday.
Mr. Hackl was born Aug. 26, 1950, in Ludwigsburg, Germany, a son of Frank and Albine (Schwerg) Hackl, Custer.
He moved with his family to the Stevens Point area as a child and attended local schools. After school he entered the U.S. Marine Corps on Dec. 16, 1970. He served as a lance corporal, receiving the National Defense Service Medal, rifle marksman badge and the Good Conduct Medal.
He was honorably discharged on Dec. 8, 1972, and returned to the Stevens Point area.
He was employed with Bake-Rite for 15 years and then Steel King Industries to the present time.
He was married to Cathleen Crawley on Nov. 9, 1974, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Mosinee. They settled in the Stevens Point area and lived at their present address the past 20 years.
Survivors besides his parents and wife include three daughters, Rebecca (Christian) Taylor, St. Louis Park, Minn.; and Amy and Barbara, both at home; three brothers, Norbert (Margie), Custer, Frank Jr. (Mary), Stevens Point, and Steven (Cindy), Stevens Point; one sister, Brigitte (Jerry) Kitowski, Stevens Point; and two grandsons.
