Mary Groholski, 86, 1600 Sherman Ave., Whiting, died Friday, Dec. 3, 1999, at St. Michael’s Hospital. She had been in ill health since Aug. 28 and had been living at River Pines Center.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Alan Burkhardt officiating. Burial will be in Guardian Angel Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Monday at the church until the services.
Shuda Funeral Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mrs. Groholski was born Jan. 23, 1913, in the town of Amherst, a daughter of the late John and Sophie (Patoka) Kropidlowski. She attended schools in Fancher.
She was married to Ernest Groholski on May 26, 1930, at St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church in Fancher. They lived in Amherst until 1944 when they moved to Stevens Point. He died Nov. 11, 1977.
She was a member of St. Anne’s Society at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Survivors include six daughters, Pearl (Jerome) Shuda, Mukwonago, Ruth (Tony) Suchon and Patricia Glen, both of Stevens Point, Josephine (Chester) Bungert, Menomonee Falls, Lucille (John) Herman, Arnott, and Maryann (Henry) Shirek, Daytona Beach, Fla.; one son, Gregory, Stevens Point; two sisters, Laura (Henry) Sopa, Milwaukee, and Verona Groholski, Amherst; one brother, Eddie Kropidlowski, King; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Ernest Jr., one brother and three grandchildren.
