Lillian A. Upthagrove, 90, Racine, formerly of Stevens Point, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 1999, at the Lincoln Lutheran Home in Racine.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Stevens Point with the Rev. Kenneth Knutson officiating. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery in Stevens Point.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Boston Funeral Home and again from 10 a.m. Monday at the church until the services.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in her name for the Parkinson’s Foundation.
Mrs. Upthagrove was born Aug. 31, 1909, in Amherst Junction, a daughter of the later Willie and Lucy (Glodowski) Kjer.
She was married to Claude Upthagrove after moving to Stevens Point to work.
Together they owned and operated several businesses, including the Campus Café on Main Street and Upthagrove’s Store and Restaurant in Nelsonville.
After retiring from the restaurant business, they moved to Florida. After her husband died in 1980, she returned to Wisconsin.
She was active in her church and Rebekah Lodge.
Survivors include two sons, Fred (Doris), Thonotosassa, Fla., and Jim (Marge), Racine; one daughter, Janet (Tom) Barens, Menomonee Falls; three sisters, Carla (Walter) Leppen, Nelsonville, Donna (Chester) Trzebiatowski, Iola, and Doris Ellett, Reedsburg; three brothers, Peter (Mary Lou) Kjer, Massachusetts, Dick (Bernice) Kjer, Amherst Junction, and Leonard Kjer, Stevens Point; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
