James Cyril Trestik Sr., 86, 836 County Road N, Milladore, died Thursday, Dec. 2, 1999, in the emergency room at Wausau Hospital as the result of a traffic accident.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Milladore with the Rev. John A. Wisneski officiating. Burial will be in the St. Wenceslaus Cemetery. American Legion Post 468, of which he was a member, will conduct military rites at the cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Martens/Kundinger Funeral Home in Junction City, and from 9:30 a.m. Monday at the church until the services. There will be a parish rosary service at 8 p.m. Sunday.
Mr. Trestik was born July 17, 1913, in Chicago, Ill., a son of the Peter and Anna (Fremund) Trestik Sr. He attended Victory School in the town of Eau Pleine in Portage County and North County Line School in the town of Milladore in Wood County.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from Aug. 6, 1942 until his honorable discharge on Dec. 9, 1945.
He then farmed in the town o f Eau Pleine his entire life until his retirement, continuing to assist his children on their farms after retirement.
He was married to Arlene F. Cartwright on Nov. 15, 1947, in Milladore. She died May 10, 1974.
He was also a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church.
Survivors include one son, James Jr., Junction City; one daughter, Barbara (Michael) Clark, Milladore; one brother, Charles, Milladore; and six grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Peter.
