Herbert T. Perkins, 84, Plover, died Friday, Dec. 17, 1999, at St. Michael’s Hospital.
Funeral services were Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Avon Centre Cemetery, Grayslake, Ill., with the Rev. Zach Turner officiating.
Boston Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
Mr. Perkins was born July 4, 1915, in Indiana Harbor, Ind., a son of the late Herbert and Helen (Timm) Perkins.
He served as a staff sergeant during World War II with the 68th Army Air Corps as a radio and control tower operator in the South Pacific Theatre.
He was employed with Bell and Howell as a design engineer for 32 years, retiring in 1979 in Grayslake, Ill.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanette; two daughters, Donna (Paul) Watson, Stevens Point, and Kathleen Perkins, Waukegan, Ill.; and two granddaughters.
