Harold A. Pohl, 94, a former Amherst area farmer, died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2000, at Bethany Home in Waupaca where he had been a resident.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waupaca with the Rev. James Diener officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Amherst.
Visitation will be held an hour prior to the services at the church.
A memorial has been established in his name.
Holly Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
Mr. Pohl was born Aug. 9, 1905, in Harrisville, a son of the late Max and Agnes Pohl.
He was married to Edna Lutz on Feb. 16, 1928, 71 years ago. She survives.
They farmed north of Amherst and moved to Waupaca in 1952, where he was employed by the Madison Silo Co.
Survivors besides his wife include one son, Allen (Lila) Pohl, Waupaca; one daughter, Lila (Dale) Mathwich, Madison; two sisters, his twin, Florence Lutz, Amherst Junction, and Estella Perch, Stevens Point; six grandsons; and six great-grandsons.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Henry, Arden and Herbert; and two sisters, Mable Hintz and Lanora Lutz.
